In 1877, a haunted frontiersman and his stepdaughter cross the unforgiving Alberta-Montana border to bring her runaway brother home from the ruthless gang led by his biological father – forcing a man desperate to escape his violent past to confront it once again.
THE STORY
Blood Trail is a gritty frontier Western about family, redemption, and the violence that follows men who have spent their lives trying to outrun it.
Set in 1877 along the unforgiving Alberta-Montana border, the story follows Jeff, a haunted frontiersman determined to protect the fragile family he has built despite the blood shed buried in his past.
When his stepson Nathan runs away to join his biological father, Wade – a ruthless gang leader whose influence threatens to pull the boy into the same brutal world Jeff has fought to escape – Jeff and Nathan’s sister Megan set out to bring him home.
Their search leads deep into dangerous territory and toward an inevitable confrontation with Wade and his gang, forcing Jeff to decide how far he is willing to go to save the people he loves.
Stark, atmospheric, and emotionally grounded, Blood Trail is a story of found family, who are struggling to remain whole in a world where loyalty is tested by blood, survival demands sacrifice, and redemption often comes at a terrible cost.
WHY THIS STORY SHOULD EXIST
I’ve always been drawn to stories where the past isn’t something a character can simply leave behind.
Blood Trail explores the complicated nature of family, particularly the bonds we choose rather than inherit. At its heart is a man who has spent years trying to build something better than the life he came from, only to discover that protecting the people he loves may require him to confront the very violence he has spent his life trying to escape.
The Western provides the perfect landscape for that conflict – a harsh, unforgiving world where survival is never guaranteed and redemption has to be earned.
