THE STORY
When survival is all you have left, what happens when survival is no longer enough?
Paycheck to Paycheck is a raw, relentless crime thriller about desperation, grief, and the lengths a mother will go to when everything she has been fighting to protect is taken from her.
Struggling to make ends meet, a desperate single mother turns to an unlikely and dangerous source of income: selling illegal explosives. It’s a choice born not from greed, but from the increasingly impossible demands to keep her family alive.
Then one deal goes horribly wrong.
A violent encounter with a heavily armed white nationalist militia ends with the murder of her family, leaving her devastated – and with nothing left to lose.
But grief doesn’t leave her powerless.
Armed with determination, knowledge of the people who took everything from her, and a willingness to cross lines she once never imagined crossing, she sets out alone to confront the organization responsible.
What begins as an act of survival becomes a personal war.
As she moves deeper into a world of violence and extremism, she must decide how much of herself she is willing to sacrifice for revenge – and whether destroying the people who destroyed her will give her justice, or simply turn her into another casualty of the violence she is fighting.
WHY THIS STORY SHOULD EXIST
I’m drawn to characters who are pushed into circumstances where the choices they once believed were impossible become their only options.
Paycheck to Paycheck explores desperation, motherhood, grief, and the dangerous line between justice and revenge. At its center is a woman who never set out to become a hero – or a warrior. She was simply trying to keep her family alive.
The tragedy that changes her life forces her to confront a question that has no easy answer: How far can someone go for the people they love before the fight changes who they are?
The story also examines the consequences of violence when ordinary people become caught in conflicts much larger than themselves. Beneath the action and suspense is a story about loss, resilience, and one woman’s refusal to let the people who destroyed her family determine how her story ends.
